30 things your agent can do in Close

Search and update leads, contacts and opportunities, move deals through your stages, write notes and tasks, send email and texts through Close, log calls, enroll contacts in sequences and reply in comment threads. Every change is checked first, and your rules decide which ones need a person.

Close holds the pipeline. Someone still has to keep it.

Around every call there is CRM work: the note afterwards, the follow-up task, the status that should have moved, the question about a lead that lands in Slack. It waits for whoever is free, which is nobody during selling hours.

After the call

The note that never gets written

The call went well and the next one starts in two minutes. What was agreed lives in someone's head until the lead comes back and nobody remembers.

Friday

When the pipeline gets updated

Statuses, values and close dates are backfilled in a batch before the pipeline review. Until then the board shows last week.

1 question

Three places to answer it

"Where are we with Acme?" means the lead in Close, the email thread and the calendar, one tab at a time, while the person asking waits.

How it works with Close

Three steps to an AI team member that works alongside you in Close.

01

Connect Close

From the agent's Tools tab, sign in with Close and approve AgentTeams. There is nothing to copy or paste. The agent works as the user you sign in with, so a user of its own, with its name and picture, is the cleanest choice.

02

Set the playbook

Tell it your statuses and stages, how you qualify a lead, which templates to use and which changes it may make on its own. It follows your team's process, not a generic one.

03

Let it work

Assign it tasks, mention it in notes, give it a weekly pipeline report and switch on the reactions you want. Changes are checked first while you build trust.

Everything you need for Close between calls

From the note after a call to the Friday pipeline update, your AI agent handles the Close work that piles up around the selling.

Leads, contacts and deals, kept current

Creates and updates leads and contacts, merges duplicates when you ask, and creates opportunities and moves them through your stages with the value, confidence and close date you give it. It finds the right lead by name, website or email first, so it updates the record you have instead of adding another.

Tasks and mentions, like a teammate

Assign it a task in Close and it works on it and marks it done. Mention it in a note or a comment and it answers on the lead. Both are on from the first day. It works as the Close user you connect it with, so give it a user of its own and your team assigns and mentions it like anyone else.

Email, calls and texts through Close

Sends email from its user's mailbox in Close or saves a draft for you, replies in the thread, uses your templates, enrolls a contact in a sequence, logs calls that happened elsewhere, and texts from your Close numbers. Every send is a change like any other, checked first.

Reacts when something happens in Close

Close tells the agent when something changes, and you choose what it acts on: a new lead, a status change, a note or a comment, an email or a text from a lead, a finished call. A call that ends can get its summary note and follow-up tasks; a lead's email can get a reply drafted for your approval.

Answers about any lead

Ask in chat, Slack or Teams where things stand with a lead, and it reads the notes, emails, calls, texts and tasks on it in Close and tells you, with the link. It knows your statuses, custom fields, templates and smart views, so it answers in your terms.

Pipeline reports where your team talks

On a schedule it reads your open, won and lost opportunities, by owner if you like, and posts what moved, what is due and what hasn't moved to your channel, so the pipeline review starts with the numbers instead of with clicking through deals.

What teams use it for

Concrete examples of Close agents in production today.

The note after every call

A call in Close ends. The agent takes the rep's call notes, writes a clear summary on the lead with what was agreed and what is open, creates the follow-up task with a due date, and moves the opportunity when the call changed where the deal stands.

Mention it, get an answer

A teammate writes "what did we agree with Acme on the delivery window?" in a note and mentions the agent. It reads the lead's emails, notes and calls and answers in a note on the lead, with the dates and the open points, within minutes.

New leads, ready for the first reply

A lead comes in from your website form. The agent looks the company up, fills the custom fields you care about, sets the status your playbook says, and drafts the first reply in Close for a rep to send.

Frequently asked questions

Things people commonly ask before deploying an AgentTeams agent in Close.

How does the agent connect to Close?

Through Close's own sign-in. Someone signs in with the user the agent should work as, picks the organization and approves AgentTeams, with nothing to copy or paste. From then on the agent works as that user: tasks assigned to it and mentions of it reach the agent, and the notes, emails and tasks it writes carry that user's name. A user of its own is the cleanest choice.

Will it send emails or texts on its own?

Every change it wants to make in Close is checked first, and your company's rules decide which changes need a person to approve them. Sending an email or a text is a change like any other. Start strict, loosen it per action once the replies look right, or tell it to save drafts instead of sending.

What can it react to?

A task assigned to it and a mention in a note or comment, both on from the start. You can also switch on new leads, lead and opportunity status changes, new notes and comments, emails and texts from leads, and finished calls, each with filters and your own instructions. It never reacts to its own changes, so one update can't set off another.

Does it work with our custom fields, statuses and templates?

Yes. It reads your lead and opportunity statuses, custom fields, email templates, sequences and smart views, shows custom fields by name and writes them the same way. Tell it what the fields mean during setup and it uses them your way.

What can it see in Close?

The same as the user it signed in as. Close gives a connected app the access of the user who approved it, so the agent sees and does what that user can and nothing more. It uses that for leads, contacts, opportunities, activities, tasks and comments, reads your setup, and receives the notifications about changes. It can't manage your users, your billing or your connected apps.

What happens to our CRM data?

Close tells us when something changes in your organization. We keep only the changes your agent has a reaction for and drop the rest at once. What the agent reads and writes while working stays with that agent in your own AgentTeams workspace, and nothing from your CRM is used to train any model.
