Attio CRM

Connect an agent to Attio: what it does in your workspace, the permissions it asks for, the reactions it handles, and how to disconnect.

What it is

An agent connected to Attio works in your workspace the way a teammate does. It keeps people, companies, deals and your own objects up to date, moves list entries through their stages, writes notes, tasks and comments, turns recorded calls into notes and follow-ups, and works with the files on your records.

In Attio, the agent works as one member of your workspace, which you choose when you connect: tasks assigned to that member and comments that mention them go to the agent, and the comments it writes carry that member’s name. A seat of its own, with the agent’s name and picture, is the cleanest choice, because teammates can then assign it tasks and mention it like anyone else.

Before you start

Attio lets only workspace admins connect apps, so the person connecting needs an admin account. The agent’s own seat doesn’t need admin rights: invite it as a regular member first if you want one, and give it the agent’s name and picture.

Connecting Attio

You can start from either side. Both end in the same sign-in.

  1. From AgentTeams. Open the agent, go to the Tools tab, choose Attio and click Sign in with Attio.
  2. From the Attio App Store. Install AgentTeams, sign in to AgentTeams when asked, and pick the employee who should work in Attio. The same sign-in starts from there.

Sign in with an admin account, pick the workspace and approve. There is nothing to type: Attio tells us which workspace you chose. When the wizard checks the connection, it lists your workspace’s members and asks who the agent is. Pick its own seat, or anyone else it should work as. Whoever signed in is preselected, and your choice stays when you reconnect later.

What the agent can do

  • Records. Search, read, create and update people, companies, deals and custom objects, and see how a value changed over time. It matches on email address or domain, so it updates the record you already have instead of adding a duplicate, and it merges duplicates when you ask.
  • Lists and pipelines. Add records to lists, move entries through their stages and fill in the fields each stage needs.
  • Notes, tasks and comments. Write notes on the right record, create, complete and remove tasks, and reply in comment threads.
  • Meetings and calls. Read your meetings and their call recordings, including the transcript, log meetings, and link them to the right records.
  • Filing calls. Give the employee the transcript of a call, pasted or attached in chat, and it adds the call to the Attio meeting as a call recording with that transcript, speakers and times included, so the call lives on the meeting and its records. It removes a call recording when you ask.
  • Files. Read the files attached to a record, such as a contract or a proposal, and attach the documents it creates.
  • Workspace setup. Add objects, attributes, select options, pipeline stages and lists when you ask for them.
  • Unsubscribes. Add someone who asked not to be emailed to the list your sequences never contact.

What the app asks for

Attio shows the full list on its consent screen. Each permission is there for a feature above:

  • Records, lists and list entries, to keep your data current and move your pipelines.
  • Objects, attributes and list setup, to read how your workspace is built and to add a field, an option or a stage when you ask.
  • Notes, tasks and comments, for the agent’s own notes and replies and the tasks you give it.
  • Meetings and call recordings, to summarize calls, log meetings, and file the calls you give it a transcript for (adding a call recording to a meeting, or removing one).
  • Files, to read attachments and add new ones.
  • The sequence unsubscribe list, to honor a request to stop emails.
  • Workspace members, read only, to assign tasks and to know when a comment mentions the agent.
  • Notifications about changes, so the agent hears about new tasks, comments, record changes and finished call recordings as they happen.

The app covers the whole workspace, not just one member’s view of it, and it cannot manage your members or your billing.

What it reacts to

Two reactions are on from the start: a task assigned to the agent, which it works on and marks done, and a comment that mentions it, which it answers in the same thread. On the Tasks page you can also switch on reactions to new records, deal stage changes, list entries, notes, any new comment, and finished call recordings: when a recorded call has its transcript, the agent writes a summary note on the deal and creates the follow-up tasks.

The agent never reacts to its own changes, so one update can’t set off another. See Reactions for filters and custom instructions.

Staying in control

Every change the agent wants to make in Attio goes through a review step first, and your company’s rules decide which changes need a person to approve them. Start strict and loosen it per action once the updates look right. Approval gates explains how.

What we receive, and what we keep

  • Attio tells us when something changes in the workspace. We only look into and keep the changes your agent has a reaction for; the rest are dropped straight away.
  • What the agent reads and writes while working stays with that agent in your own AgentTeams workspace, the same way its chats and emails do.
  • Nothing from your workspace is used to train any model. For the full picture, see our privacy policy.

Disconnecting

There are two places, and doing both is the clean way round:

  1. In AgentTeams. Open the agent, go to the Tools tab, open the Attio card and click Disconnect. The agent stops working in Attio at once, and Attio stops sending us changes.
  2. In Attio. Open Workspace settings, then Apps, and remove AgentTeams. This ends the access from Attio’s side; if the agent is still connected, its Tools tab asks you to reconnect.

Disconnecting leaves everything the agent already wrote in Attio in place, and the agent keeps what it learned. Remove the agent entirely if you want that gone too.

If something is off

  • It doesn’t pick up a task. The task has to be assigned to the member the agent works as, and the task reaction has to be on. A task that is already done is skipped.
  • It picks up someone else’s tasks. The agent works as the wrong member, often the admin who connected it. Reconnect from the Tools tab and pick the agent’s own seat when asked who it is.
  • The sign-in stops at an install request. The account isn’t an admin in that workspace. Ask an admin to connect the agent instead; they can pick the agent’s own seat afterwards.
  • It connected to the wrong workspace. Disconnect, then sign in again and pick the right workspace on Attio’s consent screen.
  • No summary after a call. The reaction only starts once Attio has the transcript, and a recording that failed in Attio starts nothing. Check that the call recording reaction is on.
