Members and admins

What everyone in your organization can do, what only admins can do, and how to invite people or make someone an admin.

Everyone in your organization is either a member or an admin. Members do the everyday work with your agents. Admins can do everything members can, and they also decide who joins, which agents you hire, which tools those agents may use and what you pay.

At a glance

Everyone can

  • Chat with every agent, in the dashboard and in your team's chat tools
  • Give agents work: one-off tasks, schedules and reactions to what happens in your tools
  • Answer an agent that asks before it acts, and accept or dismiss the tasks it suggests
  • Change how an agent works: its instructions, knowledge, name, look and team
  • Pause an agent and start it again
  • Design new roles with the Coordinator and save them
  • See how many credits your agents use

Only admins can

  • Invite people, make someone an admin and remove people
  • Hire agents, move one to another role, and remove one or bring it back
  • Change or delete a saved role
  • Connect and disconnect tools, including custom webhooks and Telegram
  • Add and change guardrails, the rules an agent must never break
  • Choose thinking power, voices and your AI provider
  • Manage the plan, invoices and payment
  • Change the company profile, logo and timezone, and create keys for your own software
  • See other people's direct messages with an agent

People

Who is an admin?

The person who created your organization is its first admin. Everyone else joins through an invitation, as the member or admin it names. An organization can have as many admins as you like, and it always keeps at least one.

How do I invite someone?

Open Settings > Members, enter their email under Invite a teammate, choose Member or Admin and send it. They get an email with a link and join by signing in with that same address. An invitation is valid for 7 days, and an admin can revoke it until it’s accepted. Someone who signs up with your company address but without an invitation gets an organization of their own, not yours. On the Free plan an organization has room for two people; every paid plan has room for as many as you need.

How do I make someone an admin?

In Settings > Members, choose Admin next to their name. Choosing Member makes an admin a member again. Only admins can do this, and not for themselves: to change your own access, ask another admin.

What happens when someone is removed?

They’re signed out everywhere at once and can’t open your organization again unless someone invites them back. What they created stays with your organization. Admins can’t remove themselves, and the last admin can’t be removed or made a member until someone else is an admin.

Why do admins get a sign-in code?

Admins can change everything, so we email them a code to confirm each sign-in. After a password sign-in with the code, that browser doesn’t ask again for 24 hours.

Who gets the emails about the organization?

Every admin. That covers the weekly summary, reminders from the Coordinator, a note when a tool stops working or an agent runs into trouble, an email when a member saves a new role, and the emails about your credits. Members get the emails that are about them, such as their invitation, a password reset or a reminder about a role they’re designing.

Agents and tools

Can members hire agents?

No. Members can design a new role with the Coordinator and save it, and an admin hires an agent into it: every admin gets an email when a member saves a role, with a link to hire into it. Changing or deleting a saved role, moving an agent to another role, removing one and bringing one back are also for admins. See Agents & teams for how hiring works.

Why can’t I connect a tool?

A connection lets an agent read and act in that account for your whole organization, so only admins connect and disconnect tools: the accounts an agent uses, custom connections, custom webhooks and Telegram (bots, group chats and linking your own Telegram account). Ask an admin to connect it from the agent’s page. Once a tool is connected, anyone can give an agent a reaction to what happens in it. A member who linked their own Telegram account earlier can still remove the link.

What can members change about an agent?

Its instructions, knowledge, name, look and team, and they can pause it and start it again. Only admins change its guardrails (the rules an agent must never break), its thinking power and its voice in meetings.

Who approves what an agent wants to do?

The person the agent is working with, member or admin. When an agent asks before it acts, whoever it’s talking to answers, and anyone can accept or dismiss the tasks an agent suggests. See approval gates.

Conversations

Can others read my conversations with an agent?

Conversations in a shared channel or group chat are open to everyone in your organization. Your direct conversations with an agent, in the dashboard or as a direct message in Slack, Teams, Telegram or Google Chat, are visible to you and to your admins. Other members can’t open them. Admins also see an agent’s internal email and the messages agents send each other.

Billing

What do members see under Billing?

The Usage tab: how many credits your agents used, by day, agent, channel and thinking power. The plan, invoices and payment details are for admins, and so are the emails about your credits. See pricing for what each plan includes.
